Hi Ladies!
My name is Johnna and I get the pleasure of being the Philanthropy Chair for Chi Epsilon. Philanthropy is our number one Cardinal Purpose, and my sisters and I would love to share a little about our philanthropies. Every Chi Omega chapter in the nation supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and here in Evansville, our Chi Epsilon chapter also supports a local charity, the Albion Fellows Bacon Center, a shelter and aid to women and children who are victims of domestic violence. I want to touch a little bit on the commitment our members have to community service. Here at UE, we show our support for the Make-A-Wish Foundation through raising money the best way possible with college students: food. In the fall, we hold a Dishes for Wishes event featuring homemade food made by each of us. This year we were able to raise nearly $9,000 for Make-A-Wish, the most we’ve raised yet! To show our support for Albion, we host Chi Omega’s Taste of Evansville in the spring, where local restaurants donate food. This past spring, our theme was trivia and we were able to raise nearly $1,100 for Albion, the most we’ve raised yet! We hope that this event only becomes a bigger success and can’t wait to see it grow with our newest chapter members! Thanks,
Johnna Mitchell Philanthropy Chair, PC'17 |
